Two-tone toiletry pouch

A small toiletry pouch for travelling. Soft, textured cotton on top, sturdy olive technical fabric on the bottom, and inside a lining you wouldn't guess from the outside.

Why I made it

My toiletry pouch was far too big for travelling, so I made a smaller one. I was sewing PEBBLE poufs at the time and had offcuts lying around that were too good to throw away.

The fabrics

I liked the contrast of two textures: soft, coarsely woven cotton and smooth, stiff technical fabric, the kind you know from backpacks. The tougher one went on the bottom. It's waterproof, so even a wet shelf by the sink doesn't bother it.

Inside

The lining is a leftover from the poufs too. Plain on the outside, in full bloom on the inside, and the colours still go together. There's a zip pocket on one side and two open pockets on the other.
