Triangle shade sail

A triangular sail that shades the patio, which I designed and sewed to fit.

For now there are only photos. If enough of you ask, I will turn it into a step-by-step guide.

Why I made it

The old parasol was small and leaned a bit. Instead of buying a new one I measured the anchor points, drew a triangle and sewed a sail to fit. In summer it now shades our patio in place of the small parasol.

The hardest part

From about seven metres of fabric I had to join three giant pieces together on a home sewing machine. My parents helped. The whole thing took about two days.

What I learned

A waterproof fabric doesn't let the rain through, so a small pond forms in one spot. Next time I'll use a breathable fabric.
