Rainbow tote

A simple canvas tote in natural cotton with cotton straps, a large outer pocket and an inner pocket sewn into the top hem. The splash of colour is a thin rainbow strap for keys, sewn into the hem so it hangs into the inner pocket.

Why I made it

It was made to order.

What I learned

I learned to sew a large patch pocket, where accurate placement and pinning it firmly in place matter so it doesn't shift while sewing. On the top corners of the pocket I tried a bar tack: a dense zigzag that reinforces a spot under strain.
